Jason has been potting full time since 2007. His studio is in the Radnorshire hills.
Jason makes pots for use, believing that the preparation, presentation and eating of food is made more enjoyable by good pots. His forms are inspired by European country pottery, and his glazes by the salt glazes of mediaeval Germany and the Low Countries and the ash glazes of the Far East.
Jason fires on wood and oil in two kilns each with a packing-space of around 25 cubic feet. A salt firing can take up to 24 hours. he makes the observation "Nearly fifty years on from when I first potted, I ought to find this pretty routine now, but firings continue to be by turns frustrating and thrilling."
