Jacob exhibited a series of paintings of Welsh landscape and nature, based on direct observation and memory. His work explores colour and mark making, focusing on variations in weather and season.
Each piece represents a period of time spent looking and painting in the field. Colour washes are left to chance and combined with more precise lines, as a way of layering and reflecting both the structural and ephemeral qualities found in nature.
Jacob lives in Carmarthenshire. He studied Natural History Illustration at the Royal College of Art, graduating in 2003.
