Contemporary art gallery in the heart of Brecon
Our opening times in September:
10am - 4.30pm. Tues - Sat
Found Gallery is owned by Punch & James Maughan and was a project in the making for 18 months, we opened on July 4th, 2019.
Having always been interested in contemporary art and ceramics and more recently having worked as the Visual Arts Coordinator for The Andrew Lamont Gallery at Theatr Brycheiniog Punch has been really excited to develop a space to show off the work of artists and makers that she has discovered and met over the last few years. The journey continues to find more creatives to feature in our future exhibitions.
Found is aiming to become one of the leading arts spaces in not only Brecon, but also in Wales. The gallery is offering a refreshed, diverse and encouraging stance of what a contemporary art gallery can and should be. The changing exhibition programme will showcase emerging as well as established creative talent.
We want to thank our architects - Featherstone Young, the boys on site: Carl, Ant, Paul, Robin, Pete, Nick, Trevor the electrician, Odddots for all the ply work, Design Dough for our branding & design, Roman Glass in Hereford, Colin of Talgarth Joinery, Leon the plumber, Youngs...and everyone else who has helped us bring Found to Brecon.
Having been closed due to Covid 19 we re-opened on
Tuesday, 14th July.
The gallery is airy and spacious and you can see whether it is safe to come in as 'social distancing' continues. We have hand sanitiser at the door and gloves are available.
If you would prefer to make a private appointment to visit please do get in touch.
As of September 15th 2020 we are pleased to be able
to offer Collectorplan

Found in the Town and The Hills
16th September - 17th October
This exhibition was due to be on in March and April this year but had to be postponed due to Covid 19. It features the work of Trallong artist Michael Howard and Roger Reese from Llanfihangel Tallylyn. Hay based bronze sculptor Tim Rawlins is exhibiting a group of his pieces accompanied by some photographic images by Matt Day which came out of a collaboration with Tim exploring the process of direct wax working and bronze casting. Jeweller Ali Tregaskes and wood turner James Davies are joining this post-covid show. Craftsman Matthew Smith has his large maple and glass book case in the gallery window as well as some Maple wall sculptures. We are pleased to still be hosting artist blacksmith Jacob Edwards and to have the work of Bronte Woodruff in our lower gallery. Bronte's exhibition was cut short by weather & events earlier this year!
