Found in the Town & the Hills
16th September - 13th October
This exhibtion was originally scheduled for March 2020 and we are delighted to finally be able to show it. Trallong based artist Michael Howard is exhibiting his rural scenes painted in oils with Roger Reese who captured Brecknock Museum before it's recent re-incarnation. Hay based, bronze sculptor, Tim Rawlins has developed an exciting process of direct wax working and bronze casting. We are exhibiting a series of images from a collaboration between Tim and artist Matt Day that explored the notions of craft, process and the power of creative opportunity that emerges from interdisciplinary collaboration.
James Davies, woodturner, is joining this post lock down exhibition. James creates sculptural forms and turned home-wares from local storm fallen timber. He uses mainly traditional woodworking methods and techniques as well as some modern and experimental processes to produce beautiful and functional pieces. The work of jeweller Ali Tregaskes, who specialises in nature inspired etched silver, is also featured.
Local furniture designer and joiner, Matthew Smith, has a large maple book shelf in our window as well as some stunning spalted maple pieces for wall hangings.
Please click on the artist's images below to go through to their own pages. The Sound Cloud audio at the bottom of the page is a recording made by Brecon Story of Roger & Michael talking to Punch Maughan about their work and what inspires them.
