Pauline studied art at St. Helens College of Art and at The University of Wales in Cardiff; she also has a Post Graduate teaching qualification from the University of Newport.
Her art is a representation of life from her own perspective, she has been painting and drawing from life, recording places, events and people wherever she goes. She especially enjoys drawing musicians whilst they play. She selects her subject matter to suit her interest at the time. Be it skateboarders, rugby players or dancers enjoying their fearless commitment to their sport, providing her with great dynamics.
Pauline prefers to work directly in front of her subject wherever practical, making a direct response, but she also works in her studio allowing memory and imagination to kick in. For Pauline, studio working also encourages a more painterly approach to her work.
Pauline's art studio is at home allowing her to fit her art with the rest of her family commitments. She regularly finds inspiration to paint from her own garden and frequently includes family members into her paintings.
She also teaches drawing and painting, mostly to adults, specializing in portraiture and life-drawing.
