Chalk White Woodland Vessel. Look handles, porcelain flowers, acorn cup. Unglazed white porcelain, beech wood, mixed media.

Elaine Bolt is a ceramic artist working with clay and mixed media, creating vessels and compositions guided by a sense of narrative and steeped in the context of her local surroundings.

Elaine's vessels are thrown on the wheel, in porcelain and stoneware with mixed media additions. Finished in a muted colour palette, many of these works feature deep flint blacks, through soft grey stony glazes to ghostly chalk tones.

Elaine has an MA in Ceramics from UCA Farnham and is an alumni of the Crafts Council’s Hothousetalent development programme. She has worked as a Lecturer on the BA Ceramics course at the University of Brighton as a tutor at West Dean College and Forest Row School of Ceramics.
