aAfter studying fine arts at Staffs university, Stoke-On-Trent, Eira pursued her love of colour and defined expression of line, studying coloured glass window making with skilled craftsman, Chris Preston, in the Glasgow College of Building and Printing in the early 1990’s.
For the next few years, she explored the possibilities of glass fusing incorporating it into her lead panels as well as producing decorative fused glass mirrors, exhibiting and selling in various galleries and craft fairs in Wales, Scotland and England. Her early works, inspired by the figurative, primarily revolved around abstract design. After a year living abroad in Jerusalem at the turn of the millennium, where she assisted in the making of the stained-glass windows for Bikur Holim hospital in the city center designed and managed by Israeli stained-glass artist, Daniela Pearlmann, Eira found her home in the southern heel of Italy where she still lives with her family. For the last twenty years she has produced architectural lead-glass panels mainly by private commission. Some of her personal works have been on exhibition in “Io sono una Botega Artigiana” organized by the Palmieri Foundation in Lecce, Pugli in 2016 and more recently in 2022 with a collaborative “pop-up” gallery in Presicce, Puglia, “Piazza Grande Galleria”
