Oak and Ash and Thorn, these three trees for three who have found a home and community in the northerly tips of the Brecon Beacons. In rooting to the landscape Beth Flynn, Annie Randall and Emily Unsworth White have found companions in each other and the familiar Oak and Ash and Thorn.
Wandering far from their birthplaces, Beth, Annie and Emily have followed the howl of folklore, mountain and river, which echoes from the rich community of Brecknockshire. In this multi-disciplinary exhibition, they make pilgrimage to and the celebration of, the local Oak and Ash and Thorn population.
In collaboration with each other and the landscape Beth, Annie & Emily explore themes of belonging and evanescence, alongside the cultural, folkloric and scientific values of these three trees.
Originating from Brighton Beth Flynn is a multidisciplinary artist specialising in photography, singing and song writing.

As a gardener Emily often finds materials as she works, each with its own storyline of place and purpose. Wool washed and naturally dyed, wood hand carved, and clay formed with hand, many processes form the whole and many hands help. In Emily’s crafting she seeks a closeness and celebration of the natural world. Traditional materials, techniques and festivities inform Emily’s practise.
