Amy Leake

A life long curiosity about the natural world and the properties of plants and trees has naturally evolved into a life of creating functional everyday objects as a green woodworker. Starting her journey with carving spoons, she's worked over the last decade to expand her skills to pole lathe turned bowls, combs, brushes, and weaving tools. The design element is a very important part of her work. She's inspired by old Scandinavian and Eastern European treen, but her objective is to create original designs skilfully executed that will be handled, used and treasured, and that wouldn’t look too out of place sitting alongside some of those old museum pieces.
