Yoav has been introduced to bowl turning and greenwood working 10 years ago while visiting friends in the UK, and immediately fell in love with the process and skills required to create beautiful, useful objects.
He's been on an everlasting journey of chasing elegant and simple shapes on the lathe and has been especially drawn into end grain turning and the delicacy it can offer in design, while still maintaining strength and flexibility.
Yoav is excited to explore all sorts of textures and finishing techniques on his vessels and get a lot of inspiration from the pottery world and Japanese craft aesthetic, ethos and finishing methods.
He teaches bowl turning, tool forging and spoon carving, as well as help run the Bowl Gathering event in the woodland workshop he co-manages at Brook House Farm in Herefordshire where he lives with his partner and children.
Yoav sells his products online via his website, he teaches and demonstrates in most of the green wood event in the UK, including the Bodger's Ball, northern Bowl, Spoonfest and more.
He has been lucky to travel and teach throughout the years in craft events in Italy, Israel, Denmark, Germany and France.
