Kate Corbett-Winder's paintings are inspired by the changing landscape of the Welsh borders. She is drawn to the patterns in the landscape through the seasons, looking down at abstracted aerial views of fields with their grids of hedges and geometric farm buildings.
The garden is another inspiration. As a passionate gardener, Kate aims to capture the colour, scale and texture of plant combinations in her borders in an atmospheric rather than botanical style .
Although in winter, the garden is still an appealing subject, Kate focuses more on still life in her studio, composing collages and oil paintings that feature familiar jugs, flowers and vegetables.
Working in oil, pastel, charcoal and collage, her pictures have been exhibited in galleries and one-man shows for the last 20 years
