On leaving school Janet Foster studied Photographic Science. After graduating she became an Associate of the British Institute of Professional Photographers which led to a career at the British Museum.
Whilst bringing up a young family she took a further degree in Fine Arts at Bristol University and subsequently lectured at Bristol, Gloucestershire and Westminster Universities and later taught at Haberdashers Monmouth School for Girls.
Now living in the Brecon Beacons she devotes her time to painting, her work reflecting the beauty of her present surroundings.
Janet is the Chairman of the Brecknock Art Society.
