After studying textiles at Carlisle College of Art, Kate lived in Ireland for several years. Having spent a year in a remote valley in County Kerry, she moved to Dublin where she rented a studio in Temple Bar, and also worked as a colour separation artist for a screen printing company.
Relocating to Hay-on- Wye, on the Welsh border, she designed and made one-off textile pieces which were sold from her workshop in the town. Kate was a founder member of two artist collectives : "Hand Made in Hay" and "Rogues Gallery".
In 2007 Kate gained BA Honours in Art and Aesthetics, having attended Cardiff University part-time for six years, whilst working as a painter and decorator and bringing up two children.
In 2017 she became involved with the biennial "Celebration of Welsh Contemporary Painting" initiative. Inclusion in the 2022 exhibition at Oriel y Parc, led to her being invited to show her paintings at Pierhead Gallery in Cardiff in 2023.
Pembrokeshire has been Kate's home since 2012 where is fortunate to have a light, airy studio in which to paint. This space also functions as a Gallery, as well as a place to teach, and run workshops.
