Agnieszka Pohl is a Polish born artist. As a teenager she attended an art school that led her to broaden her knowledge in interior design and develop a passion for landscaping. After moving to the UK, Agnieszka discovered the magic of ceramics as the way to express her artistic persona. She graduated with a master in art at Wrexham University and based her home workshop in North Wales, where she continues to practice her style as a member of the United Kingdom's Craft Potter Association.
Her work is marked by a masterful understanding and command of materials often inspired by the surrounding landscape and found objects. The clay and pebbles therefore serve as a medium for a more intricate narrative that highlights forces inherent to nature. Thoughtful composition leads to controlled decisions regarding clay grades, colours and additives leading to extraordinary results. The results are formed through an intensely personal relationship with her materials and unique way of throwing and coiling on the potter's wheel.
Intrigued by the contrast between raw clay and stones, she seeks to understand new ways to forge traditional pottery.
