15th November – 23rd December
For our final show of the year we are exhibiting some unseen work by Phillip Ross, the artist who was part of our very first show in July 2019 just two years before he died. We are very grateful to Phil’s family for giving permission for this exhibition.
As part of the show we will also have two paintings by Alex Hirtzel who has also exhibited with us before. Alex is an artist, bee activist and ecologist, whose creative practice has always focused on links between science and art. One of the bird life artworks we will have on show was created for the charity Birdlife International’s 100th anniversary and was exhibited at the V&A in London in September 2022. It explores the interaction of pollinators, butterflies and wild flowers.
To compliment Alex’s work we are showing a wonderful range of detailed flower photographs by Paul Crompton in our lower gallery. His collection of work on show is called 'Intimate Form – Celebrating the beauty and diversity of flowers.'
In line with the festive time of year we are showing an eclectic mix of quirky, fun and pleasing pieces by various makers to help with your Christmas shopping:
