David Collyer FRPS is a South Wales based photographer who is currently the Royal Photographic Society’s Documentary Photographer of the Year. His landscape work, often stark, and shot on black and white film, explores the transition of the land from one state to another, and is largely concerned with the scars that man leaves behind.
Agnieszka Pohl is a Polish born studio potter, now based in North Wales who makes work which is also influenced by the landscape around her. She utilises raw clay and a layering effect, using different materials and objets trouvé to echo the strata, colours and textures of the world she sees.
The Concrete and the Clay is a joint exhibition of David’s work, made throughout Europe, and Agnieszka’s work which has been inspired by David’s photography.
As part of this show we are delighted that we have the opportunity to show four paintings by Kevin Sinnott and some pieces by sculptor Ben Jones.
The exhibition also includes a studio sale of paintings by Brecon based artist Roy Powell who died in March last year.
