Three artists from south and mid Wales offered their interpretation of the Welsh landscape whilst in our lower gallery we celebrated music from the Brecon Fringe with images by Barry Hill. Potter Nick Membery from Llandeilo and jeweller Annabet Wyndham joined this show.
Arabella Shand’s inspiration for her paintings is born out of her everyday experiences. Arriving from the flatlands of East Anglia, the Welsh landscape hit her in a way that she couId not ignore. The charisma of the mountains to the quiet farms and chapels are things she can not stop painting.
Janet says of her paintings that they are interpretations based on studies and memories of walking mainly in the hills of South Wales.
Nicholas Sargent paints to recall 'a sense of place'. His subject matter is drawn from the rich landscape of Carmarthenshire's upper Towy valley where he has his home and studio.
Local photographer Barry Hill will be celebrating the musicians of Brecon Fringe from over the years and we will have copies of his limited edition books available for sale..
In our bay window we had sculptures by Håkon Busk and our front window featured a magnificent sculpture of a sperm wale by Simon Royer.
