18th October - 11th November
The Black Mountains Painter's Group was founded in 2016. Their meetings are hosted by Niel Bally at Art Courses Wales (ACW) whose studio premises is in The Black Mountains near Talgarth. The group meets for a day every six weeks to discuss and view each others’ work in a critical but supportive way, and to exchange ideas. The six week interval provides an important focus to aim for. The work is very varied and highly individual as the main prerequisite for joining the group is about self development. Some members have used the Black Mountains area for resource material while others have not. Also some of the artists have had a formal art school training whilst others have attended classes at Art Courses Wales. This is the group's second exhibition since the Chapel Gallery Bromyard in 2018. The group aims to encourage its membership to exhibit professionally and enter open competitions.
Group show with Jonathan Adams, Niel Bally, Virginia Brown, Sue Cunningham, Juliet Farnese, David Hall, Faye Kinsella, Anna Knight, Joanna Munro-Hunt, Caroline Pryce-Mason, Andy Thornley, Jeremy Vevers with ceramics by Clare Walters.
